Rhythm Guide Review
Synthetic examples, not a song. Each symbol counts the time until the next picking event or complete silence. Straight connections continue counting without another pick. Original note lengths remain in playback.

22. Overlapping Voices — One Picking Rhythm
The upper part moves while the bass rings. The guide reads 1½ + ½ + 1 + 3 = 6 beats.
23. Partial Silence vs. Complete Silence
The short upper note ends first. Only the final beat, after the bass ends too, is a rest.
24. Continuation Across a Barline
No new fret number at the start of the second measure. The straight connection means continue counting.
25. Complete Silent Measure
A whole rest fills the measure. The next measure begins with a fresh pick.
26. Compound Gap Within One Measure
A 2½-beat gap needs two connected timing values; the second does not mean pick again.
27. Grace Notes
The small grace note stays in the tab; it does not add a counted duration to the guide.
28. Final Barline and Chord Alignment
D begins with the notes; A7 begins with the rest. Chord labels are centered over their starting symbols.
29. Start and End Repeat Barlines — Double-Digit Clearance
Frets 10–13 and measures 10–11 show the stem-centered numeral 1 beside the repeat dots. Repeat dots are 25% smaller; the section plays twice.
